University of Edinburgh John McIntyre building is located in the west side of the city of Edinburgh. ItÂ isÂ sited at the baseÂ ofÂ one of Edinburghâs most prominent land marks â ‘Arthur’s Seat’.Â It houses the mainÂ catering facilitiesÂ to provide meals to over 1000 students and has 4 conference rooms.
In October 2013, Zenith SASÂ was successful in securingÂ aÂ contract to provide temporary access andÂ containment systems to the existing roof structure.
It was a requirement of the contractÂ toÂ designÂ a system to enable 1500 square metres of roof covering to be replaced inside a fully contained environment.Â Â In addition,Â provision wasÂ required in the temporary roofing systemÂ to haveÂ access sectionsÂ to enable the removal ofÂ air handling units at a later date.
Zenith Scaffolding Manager, John Lee says ‘…theÂ project was delivered in a very challenging period on the lead up to the Christmas holidays butÂ the teamÂ were able to hand over the completed system on programme after 24 days of continuious work….’
