Zenith Taekwon-Do Sponsorship Deal 2022

Zenith’s Taekwon-Do Sponsorship Deal!

30 Nov 2022

Courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit represent the core values offered by Taekwon-Do and it is so much more than a self-defence art. Taekwon-Do is a ‘Way of Life’ and is a wonderful life changing journey which offers many benefits including health benefits and improved fitness as well as personal development.

Zenith’s Project Manager, Jamie Knox, is extremely proud of what his daughter, Lexi, has achieved in this popoular Korean form of martial arts characterized by punching and kicking techniques, with emphasis on head-height kicks, spinning jump kicks, and fast kicking techniques. Lexi currently fights for the United Kingdom Taekwon-Do Council (UKTC).

Recently, a number of key instructors at the UKTC have seen some real potential in a select hand full of kids and are looking to progress them with the intention, in a few years’ time, of securing trials with the Commonwealth and Olympic squads. With a view to gaining as much experience as possible, two instructors from the UKTC are taking six kids, aged between 13 and 17 years, from the Edinburgh team to Oss in the Netherlands on the 26th-28th November 2022 to fight in the Taekyon championship tournament against various nationalities.

As a clear indicator of future potential, the team recently competed in the ITF World Championships held at Linwood, Glasgow on the 12th & 13th of November 2022 and grabbed a combined medal haul of 6 Gold, 3 Silver & 1 Bronze fighting competitors from as far as Mexico.

Zenith is delighted to sponsor the UKTC Edinburgh team and we wish them every success in their endeavours!

Jamie comments, “a massive thanks again to Zenith’s Managing Director Colin McCurdy and all within Zenith for making this possible.”
